Mitsubishi NT Pajero VRX TD (2009)

by John Ewing,reviewed August 2009

The NT series Pajero features equipment and mechanical advances plus two new entry models and freshened looks.
The 3.2-litre 4M41 turbo-diesel incorporates major mechanical improvements delivering greater power and torque (up 18 percent) plus a percent reduction in fuel consumption over the previous model.

Performance is strong and the upgraded standard five-speed auto shifts smoothly.

Attention by Mitsubishi's engineers to noise reduction means the new diesel is a far quieter beast, but clatter still leaves no doubt its an oiler.

Like its predecessor, new Pajero steers and handles with dexterity, while off-road it stamps its authority.

Towing mass has increased to 3000 kg, but above 2500 kg a lower 180 kg ball-load applies.
