Join CD and help make an immediate impact in the lives of women with breast cancer.

Brisbane’s biggest celebration of women, the CD International Women's Day Fun Run brings together all ages, backgrounds and fitness levels to support women affected by breast cancer.

Our runners and walkers will set out over a picturesque 5 OR 10km loop alongside the Brisbane River on Sunday 4 March 2018. Participants are encouraged to fundraise as part of their participation to support Mater Chicks in Pink. Last year over $500,000 was raised for women with breast cancer. Join CD to help fundraise even more in 2018. Plus, earn all 5 fundraising badges and you could go in the draw to win a $1,500 Oaks accommodation voucher to celebrate all your hard work.

Event day information

There will be lots happening on event day, especially for CD members. To make sure you don’t miss out, we’ve out together some information on things CD members can expect on event day:

Yellow wrist band

CD members will have received a yellow wristband in their race kit. Make sure you tear off the ‘Together we are powerful’ wristband and wear this on event day. This will allow you to collect your free pair of CD sunglasses. There will also be a roving CD merch team on the day. They will be looking out for people wearing these yellow wristbands to surprise and delight with some pretty awesome giveaways!

CD sunglasses

If you ticked yes to being a CD member in the registration process you will receive a yellow wristband in your race kit. This will entitle you to a free pair of yellow CD sunglasses. The sunglasses can be collected from the CD marquee from 5:45am before the race. Please show your yellow wristband at the marquee and this will be marked by a volunteer. Make sure you wear your sunglasses on the day for your chance to win one of ten $100 eftpos cards. We will have a photographer on course and in the finishers village snapping you with your sunnies on – keep an eye out for them!

Photo booth

This year there will be an CD photo booth in the CD marquee. Make sure you snap a pic and post it to social with #CD and #materchicksinpink for your chance to win one of two $500 eGift cards of your choice from the CD eGift card portal.

A good old raffle, it’s so easy and so successful. You can ask a local business if they would like to support you and donate a prize such as a meat tray. Or you can pop to the shops and grab a few things yourself. Package them up and boom – raffle prize sorted.
Let your colleagues know or take the tickets down to your local Wednesday night touch game. $2 a ticket adds up fast
  6. Get your company on board!
Get your company behind your fundraising efforts and ask if they are willing to include something about you on their website, intranet or in the company newsletter. It’s also worth finding out if your company has a donation-matching scheme where they will match the amount of money an employee raises. This is a great way for companies to participate in charitable events and fundraising
  7. You can beat the heat and fundraise at the same time
Host a car wash in your own neighbourhood and invite your neighbours to bring their car down to be washed for a small fee! Grab your kids, grab the hose, grab some sponges and get washing
  8. Take advantage of the 3pm sugar craving
Create your own fundraising chocolate box. Fill it with Freddos and other favourites and take it to work. Let you colleagues know it’s there and wait for the 3pm rush
  9. Give it up
To demonstrate how the smallest donation can make a difference, ask your friends & colleagues to give up a daily coffee or soft drink and donate the money to your fundraising
  10. Say thank you
Make sure you thank all your supporters and tell them how much their support means to you. Include an update of your fundraising efforts to date and let them know the impact you have made together
